More toys, more pampering, more excess
Young minds and psyches do distress
Have all the comforts of the world
But for daddy's love they this would hurl
He works for them to provide
But in this lie, excess for pride
Homes uprooted, relations upset
Motives of self and boss are met
Rebel my kids, I know not why
Again returning to the lie
All things they have and all is gay
But what they wanted was his day
By paper and ink we judge ourselves
With paper and ink are someone else
For paper and ink we sell our soul
For paper and ink our day is full
It's true we need some paper and ink
To buy our bread and buy our drink
But should it lead our hearts today
From love and service and God we stray
Wants to needs, to selves we lie
All to serve our damning pride
By paper and ink we judge ourselves
With paper and ink are someone else
For paper and ink we sell our soul
For paper and ink our day is full
(Repeat)
